Postal road elevates lifestyle in southern belt: Chair Oli



DAMAK: CPN UML Chairperson and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli has said the southern belt- Tarai/Madhes- in the country realizes changes once the postal road is completed.

At a greetings exchange programme organized on the occasion of the festivals at Budhabare bazaar of Gaurigunj Rural Municipality in Jhapa district on Monday, Chairperson Oli vowed that he would extend utmost support to complete the postal highway.

He reminded that the works under the postal road were begun during his leadership. “Most of the works have completed. So, people will remember me once the road is fully completed,” he asserted. Oli further said works for construction of smart city at Gaurigunj had begun during his premiership. Now Gaurigunj will take a stride in terms development as a smart city, he believed.

Moreover, the former prime minister recalled that various positive schemes were introduced by the governments he led. The people’s settlement programme, social security programme, loan with academic certificates, health insurance up to Rs 100 thousand, and women empowerment are some to mention, according to him.

On the occasion, Chairperson of Gaurigunj Rural Municipality, Baburaj Shrestha, submitted a memorandum of understanding to the party Chair. The former PM also inspected the bridge constructed over the Ratuwa stream. The bridge is yet to come into full operation, people complained.
