Amendment of TSC regulation begins

KATHMANDU: The government has initiated efforts to remove the procedural hurdles on vacancy announcement for teachers at community schools and teaching license exam by amending the regulation of Teachers’ Service Commission.

Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Poudel, informed that the proposal of regulation amendment was sent to the concerned committee by the Cabinet meeting. For delayed amendment of regulation, various activities as vacancy announcement for teachers, internal promotion and exam for teaching license were halted for long.

The Education and Human Resource Development Centre has already sent the list of vacant quota of 17,047 to the Teachers’ Service Commission. Among them, highest (12,912) vacancies are for basic level which is followed by lower secondary (2,593) and secondary level (1,542).
