We will join government: Chair of CPN (Unified Socialist) Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that his party will join the government.

At the first press conference held after the new party was recognized by the Election Commission, in Kathmandu, Thursday, Chairman Nepal said they would participate in government.

Stating that it was difficult to say in the past despite supporting the ruling coalition, he said, “Now we want to take the five-party alliance forward, we will participate in the government.”

Chairman Nepal clarified that the new party was formed according to the spirit of the national gathering of cadres. He added he did not register a new party in the past because that would have put the people’s representatives at the provincial and local levels in a difficult situation.

He said it was relief to escape the suffocation in the UML that was captured by its Chair KP Oli. However, to leaders who are not with him today but were there with him in the past, he said, “I have no complaints to those who got tired and left the struggle along the way.”
