Election officers being deputed as NC’s 14th Gen Convention nears

KATHMANDU: With the 14th General Convention just around the corner, ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is set to publish the final list of active memberships and depute election officers in each district.

Preparations are underway to deploy election officers to initiate the process of the convention with the dispute of active memberships sorted out.

Mahadev Yadav, the coordinator of the election committee formed by the party has informed that the final list of active memberships will be published latest by Friday and that the election officers will be deputed in all districts.

However, it will take a little more time to publish the list of active memberships in those districts where the dispute is yet to be resolved, he further said.

The party will hand over the final list of the active memberships to the election committee by Thursday. The formal process of the general convention will begin once Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba hands over the list to the election committee.

It is leant that the list of election officers to be deployed in all the districts has been prepared. The election officers have been chosen from teachers, professors, legal experts who are close to the NC.
