Reconstruction work to be handed over to concerned bodies



KATHMANDU: The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) is handing over the post-earthquake reconstruction work to the concerned authorities.

The 20th meeting of the Board of Directors of NRA chaired by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba thanked the NRA for the work done so far and decided to move ahead with the handover process to complete the remaining work in the reconstruction.

The meeting decided to coordinate, monitor and manage the work related to disasters from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), said NRA Chief Executive Officer Sushil Gyawali.

Similarly, the Ministry of Urban Development will manage the work related to private housing reconstruction and the construction of health institutions and government buildings.

He said that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to manage the work related to the reconstruction of the school and university.

As per the law, the term of NRA is coming to an end on coming December 25.
