Constitution and democracy at stake due to arbitrariness of ‘carriers of change’: RPP Chair Rana

KATHMANDU:  Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Pashupati Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana has accused the political parties claiming to be the ‘carriers of change’ of putting the constitution and democracy at stake.

On his Buddha Jayanti message on Wednesday, RPP Chairman Rana expressed concern over the suffering of the people due to poor governance and messy health system and alleged that the selfishness and arbitrariness of the so-called bearer of change put democracy and Constitution at stake.

RPP Chairman Rana urged all to work together to maintain the pride and unity of modern Nepal.

He alleged that the very bases of the 12 point agreement made in 2005 were wrong and the political system in the country should be restored as in prior to April 24, 2006.

Hinting that the political developments since then have been messy, RPP Chair Rana reiterated on the need to return on April 24 status.

“People’s faith in the state mechanism has been shattered by the selfishness and arbitrariness of the so-called carriers of change,” he said on his congratulatory message on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, Baba Gorakhnath Jayanti and Ubouli on Wednesday, adding, “Minor corrections on the systems do not work. Therefore, it is necessary to return to Baishakh 11 (April 24) and find a long-term solution starting from the root of 12-point agreement. ”
