President Bhandari urges Indian President to provide vaccines to Nepal

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged Indian President Ram Nath Kovind to help provide COVID-19 vaccines to Nepal.

President Bhandari wrote to her Indian counterpart through the diplomatic channel requesting him to take initiative to provide vaccines to the Himalayan nation, sources at the President’s office said.

She has also thanked India and the Indian people for providing vaccines earlier on a grant.

It should be noted that India had provided one million doses of the Covishield vaccine to Nepal on a grant.
