11 persons arrested from Thamel-Lazimpat area for betting in IPL



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 11 people on charges of illegal betting in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Police arrested 11 people from Thamel and Lazimpat areas on Sunday night.

A team from the metropolitan crime branch arrested them on charges of betting on mobile phones.

According to Superintendent of Police Krishna Pangeni, they were betting on WhatsApp. Pangeni said that Rs 300,000 in cash was also recovered from them.
