Democrats do not oppose elections: Finance Minister Poudel

KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has said that since democrats do not oppose elections, protesting the idea of holding the same is against democratic norms.

Speaking at a function in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Finance Minister Poudel said, “People who believe in democracy do not oppose elections.”

Stating that questions being raised against general elections were against democracy, Poudel urged all to move forward realizing the current difficult circumstances of the country.

Finance Minister Poudel also said that democracy would be strengthened only through elections.
