NC CWC meeting taking place today

KATHMANDU: A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) is taking place on Tuesday.

The CWC meeting, which started on December 18 had continued until on January 3, is scheduled for today.

According to Krishna Prasad Paudel, the chief secretary of the central party office of the NC, today’s meeting will prepare further protest programs against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

Only 21 CWC members have put forth their views on the HoR dissolution in the meetings that last for five days.

NC leaders are divided over the issue of HoR dissolution. President Sher Bahadur Deuba is in favor of the mid-term polls while senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel faction is in favor of the reinstatement of the HoR.

It has concluded that the Prime Minister’s move to dissolve the HoR is unconstitutional, anti-democratic and against the mandate of the people.
