Death toll from floods in Malaysia climbs to 41



KUALA LUMPUR: The death toll from the monsoon floods and landslides has climbed to 41 in Malaysia.

Earlier, the number of deaths was reported to have been 27. Twenty-six men, 13 women and two minors are among those killed in the floods.

“Out of 41 killed, 25 are from Selangor, 15 from Pahang and one from Kelantan,” said Police Chief Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah.

Floods are considered normal during the monsoon in Malaysia. However, it has turned out be destructive after the downpour that started on December 17 continued until December 19.
