Singh and Yadav elected NC vice presidents in Province 2



JANAKPURDHAM: Birendra Prasad Singh and Chandra Shekhar Yadav have been elected as the Vice-presidents of Nepali Congress Province 2.

In the results announced this morning, Singh and Yadav won the vice-presidential posts with 1,019 and 895 votes, respectively.

Their nearest rival Binod Kumar Khanal got 740 votes while Dhanlal Thokar got 636 votes, according to the Election Committee.

In the post of two General Secretary, Upendra Kumar Yadav won with 959 votes and Brihaspati Krishna Shrestha won with 788 votes. Their nearest rival was Naresh Yadav who got 775 votes and Haresh Prasad Mahato who won 703 votes. Jayanarayan Yadav with 879 votes and Parashuram Chaudhary with 822 votes were elected Joint General Secretaries.

Meanwhile, in joint general secretary (female) Bindu Kumari Yadav won with 889 votes while her nearest rival Bhimadavi Sharma got 532 votes.

Earlier, Krishna Yadav had been elected as the president of Nepali Congress Province 2 yesterday. Yadav was elected as the province 2 president by getting 996 votes while his nearest rival Ram Saroj Yadav got 855 votes.

Prahlad Gautam, coordinator of the election committee, shared that the counting of votes for the post of member of the provincial committee is underway. A total of 1,881 out of 1,951 voters had cast their votes for the 67 posts last Thursday.
