Indian nat’l held while trafficking toddler to India



KATHMANDU: Dhanusha Police has arrested a man while he was trafficking-in a minor boy to India.

The arrested has been identified as 25-year-old Suresh Thakur of Sitamadhi Gram Panchayat Bajpatti of Bihar State of India, currently staying at Janakpurdham Sub Metropolitan City-16, Dhanusha, informed District Police Office, Dhanusha.

The 14-month-old toddler, the son of Ras Lal Mukhiya who went missing since Wednesday evening, was found with Thakur at the Nepal-India border in Nagarain municipality-2 at 4 pm on Thursday.

Thakur was heading to India with the child.

Police have handed over Krishna Mukhiya to his mother Sangita Mukhiya, after rescue. Police said they are investigating the case after taking Thakur into custody.
