15 guests from 8 political parties representing various nations arriving in Kathmandu to attend UML general convention



KATHMANDU: A total of 15 guests from 8 political parties representing various nations will attend the UML’s 10th General Convention of the CPN-UML. The UML’s convention is beginning Friday in Chitwan.

On the eve of the General Convention, UML’s Department of Foreign Affairs held a press conference in the capital Thursday and said that 15 guests from eight political parties from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Cambodia have accepted the invitation sent by the party and confirmed their attendance at the general convention.

Likewise, 25 countries congratulated the UML for holding its 10th General Convention, said Dr. Rajan Bhattarai, chief of the UML Foreign Affairs Department and Coordinator of the General Convention Hospitality Committee. Foreign guests would be accommodated at Hotel Soaltee upon their arrival. Dr. Bhattarai is also holding a reception dinner for guests on Thursday night. The hospitality committee informed foreign guests would participate in the inaugural session and extend best wishes.

Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli will host a breakfast for foreign guests in Chitwan on Sunday morning.

According to the hospitality committee, the guests have been accommodated at the Green Mansion Jungle Resort while staying in Chitwan. Foreign guests will also engage in visiting the local tourist area, a jeep safari and attend Tharu cultural exhibition.

Representatives of seven political parties in the parliament were invited to the UML convention.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Janata Samajwadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav, Democratic Socialist Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Kamal Thapa and Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC confirmed their attendance.
