Indian Army gifts workshop trucks to Nepali Army

KATHMANDU: The Indian Army has gifted TATA LPTA 1628 Workshop Trucks to Nepali Army (NA) in a ceremony organized at Nepali Army Headquarters, Tundikhel on Thursday.

Defense Attaché of India Colonel Amit Sharma handed over the workshop trucks, on behalf of the Indian Army, to NA Brigadier General Krishna Dev Bhatta. These workshop trucks which act as a compact mobile workshop will be instrumental in ensuring smooth and uninterrupted functionality of NA’s transport fleet.

The gifting of workshop trucks comes immediately after the arrival of NA Chief of Army Staff General Prabhu Ram Sharma back in home after recent conferment of Honorary Rank of General of the Indian Army by the President of India.

The timely provision of military hardware under defence cooperation is a testament of strong and deep-rooted relations between the Indian Army and the Nepali Army, and will go a long way in further strengthening the bonds between India and Nepal, said a statement from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.

The Indian Army, on behalf of the Government of India, will continue to facilitate Nepali Army in its endeavors to strengthen and modernize its capabilities, the statement added.
