Nepal’s national team head coach Almutairi in mood of resignation

Says "I am out, ..let politics work."

KATHMANDU: The Head Coach of the Nepali National Football Team Abdullah Almutairi has hinted that he is likely to resign from his post.

Writing on his Facebook wall on Wednesday evening, Almutairi said sarcastically that he is going to be out from the team to let the politics work.

“I am out, let politics work,” the head coach wrote hinting he is dissatisfied with the report of the probe committee formed to investigate the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) dispute.

Coach Almutairi’s remark has further complicated the committee’s attempt to curb him as Nepal is preparing for the SAAF Championship and is preparing for a friendly match against India.

The report submitted to National Sports Council on Wednesday has recommended to alert the head coach Almutairi and urge him not to make public comments causing controversy.

However, immediately after the report became public, he wrote his status on social media and said that he would resign.

Nepali football has been in a new rhythm after Almutairi’s arrival. Nepal has started playing an aggressive game in the field.
