Mahottari Court sentences stepmother for son’s murder



MAHOTTARI: Mahottari District Court has jailed a mother for killing her stepson.

According to sources, the court has sent Ragani Devi, 20, the youngest wife of Chandra Kishor Yadav of Ramgopalpur Municipality-6 to Jaleshwor Jail for trial on the charge of murdering her son Ritesh Yadav, 5.

Chandra Kishor, the father of the murdered child, who was arrested on the charge of being involved in the same incident, has been released on a normal date.

Chandra Kishor’s first wife had left the family after he brought next woman as a second wife. First wife had left her two children with Chandra Kishor. Ragani had allegedly strangled Ritesh to death on July 29.

Both mother and father had fled the house after the incident.

However, the police had arrested the father from Mahottari and the stepmother from Dhanusha on the same day and filed a case against them.
