EC refuses to verify four members of proposed CPN Unified Socialist Party

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has refused to verify four lawmakers applying to remain in the proposed CPN Unified Socialist party led by Madhav Kumar Nepal.

The EC refused to verify the names of Sarada Bhatta, Maya Gyawali, Som Prasad Pandey and Tulasa Thapa saying that their names and signatures were missing in the application for party registration.

However, party leader Jeevan Ram Shrestha said that they had already agreed to inform the Federal Parliament stating that they had applied to remain in the proposed party.

The EC has verified the names of 30 lawmakers and 54 central members on Wednesday.
