Lawmakers brawl over HoR restoration, govt formation in House panel

KATHMANDU: Members of International Relations Committee (IRC) of the House of Representatives (HoR) engaged in a brawl at a meeting of the IRC held at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu, Sunday.

Ruling coalition lawmakers even urged IRC Chairman Pabitra Niraula to dismiss Rana from the meeting.

Chair Niraula, on her part, urged meeting attendees’ to stick to the agenda and issues in hand.

Earlier in the meeting, UML leader Nepal had thanked all sides who supported the restoration of the Lower House and presented his view of making the House effective. He had added that the decisions made by the IRC would have to be implemented after the government got full shape.

IRC Chairman Niraula said the committee was actively pursuing implementation of the decisions taken. She stressed effective functioning of the committee.
