KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has objected to the cabinet expansion in Gandaki province describing it as insulting to the dalit community.

Commenting on the Cabinet expansion in Gandaki province, Dr. Koirala said on his facebook post on Sunday that the Friday’s cabinet expansion in Gandaki province has been against the NC ethics and principles.

“It is unfortunate that the government of Gandaki has neglected inclusiveness and even more representation of the dalit community in the process of cabinet expansion,” he said, adding, “This is an unforgivable mistake made by the party. It is an insult to the Dalit community”

Dr. Koirala alleged that the entire Dalit community who have played an important role in the establishment of democracy and party organization is humiliated by the incident and urged to leadership to make necessary corrections on time.

“The issue of social justice is not only a matter of history and rhetoric but also a matter of behavior and democratic conduct,” he said ahead, warning “Such decisions could be very costly for the party in the coming days.”
