KATHMANDU: With the increase in the number of people receiving vaccination against the coronavirus, Qatar government has also relaxed some of the former restrictions and announced new quarantine and immunization rules for travelers to Qatar.
According to Nepali Embassy in Qatar, a person entering Qatar does not have to stay in quarantine if he enters after completing 14 days of the vaccination.
However, the passenger must produce a report showing the coronavirus negative within 72 hours.
The embassy has reminded that Qatar only recognizes Pfizer, Biotech, Moderna, AstraZeneca (Covishield / Oxford) and Janssen-Johnson & Johnson vaccines in Qatar.
The entrants should also possess the certificate of vaccination with clear indication of the date of vaccination, name / type of vaccine, lot number of vaccine if available and the seal of the vaccinating body. However, the people vaccinated with Sinopharm, a product of Beijing Institute of Biological Products will be tested for antibodies.
If they test positive then they should join quarantine. Even if it looks negative, they have to stay in the hotel quarantine.
The provisions said that the passengers re-entering Qatar within 12 months of recovering from a coronavirus infection in Qatar need not join the quarantine.
Passengers who have not completed the vaccination, 14 days of vaccination or have not been vaccinated must book on the mandatory Discover Qatar website and stay in Hotel Quarantine for 10 days or Mekhinis Quarantine for 14 days, according to the Nepali Embassy.
The embassy said that one should pre-register online at least 12 hours before traveling to Qatar, and carry the travel permit as well.
