Three big local bodies of Province 1 announce their budget



ITAHARI: Big three local governments of Province No 1 namely Biratnagar Metropolitan City and two Sub-Metropolitan Cities -Itahari and Dharan – have announced their budget.

Addressing the Municipal Assembly and presenting her budget for the fiscal year 2021/22, Deputy Mayor of Biratnagar presented the budget of Rs. Rs. 4 billion 100 million 338 thousand.

Eighty-nine percent budget is allocated for capital expenditure. Biratnagar has prioritized health and infrastructural fronts.

On health, free ambulances for pregnant women and elderly citizens of the city are announced.

Two hospitals with 15-bed capacity are announced to be established at wards number 15 and 19 of the local government.

Improving the infrastructure of Shahid Rangashala and organizing an international tournament is also included in the budget announced today afternoon.

Itahari’s Deputy Mayor Laxmi Gautam has presented budget of Rs 2 billion 174 million 545 thousand for the fiscal year of 2021/22. Itahari has prioritized on connectivity.

Setting up Non Inventory Ventilator in Itahari Hopsital and to have health insurance among 1 lakh citizens via Itahari Hospital are health priorities in the budget.

Budget has also emphasized on roads networks and agricultural and animal husbandry sectors.

Likewise, Dharan has announced the budget of Rs 2 billion 36 million 400 thousand.

Deputy Mayor Manju Bhandari presented the budget today afternoon. Deputy Mayor Bhandari said the budget has priority mainly on essential issue and discard unproductive issues.
