Floods likely in Kankai, Koshi, Kamala and Bagmati rivers



KATHMANDU: Heavy rains are occurring in various parts of the country since early morning today.

According to Arun Batasa Rain Gauge Center based in Nawalpur, a heavy rainfall was measured in the last three hours this morning.

With the monsoon getting active across the country, Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted heavy rains coupled with thunderstorms in various parts of the country today.

The MFD has predicted light to moderate rains in some places of Pradesh 1, Pradesh 2, Bagmati Pradesh, Gandaki Pradesh and Lumbini Pradesh and light rains in few places of the rest of the provinces.

Similarly, heavy rains amidst thunderstorms are forecast in one or two places of Pradesh 1 and Bagmati Pradesh, according to a weather bulletin issued by the Division this morning.

Meanwhile, the Division has urged the people to take precautions warning of flood and landslide risks in rivulets including Arungkhola during the day.

Likewise, the floods might occur in Kankai, Khosi, Kamala and Bagmati rivers, said MFD urging people living along the river banks.
