Prachanda, Deuba and Nepal holding meeting at Singha Durbar



KATHMANDU: Senior leaders of the opposition alliance Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Center leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal are holding talks at NC parliamentary party office, Singha Durbar Kathmandu.

According to the sources, the leaders of the opposition alliance called a meeting to formulate additional strategy against the dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR).

The opposition alliance filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court Monday demanding the appointment of NC President Deuba as the Prime Minister under Article 76 (5) of the Constitution

On the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Oli, President Bidya Devi Bhandari dissolved HoR at midnight on Friday and announced mid-term elections for November.

A majority of members have signed the writ petition against the dissolution of the HoR.
