Mother and daughter killed in tusker attack

GULARIYA: Two people have died after being attacked by elephants in Geruwa rural municipality-1in Bardiya district.

The deceased have been identified as 37-year-old Chandra BK and her three-year-old daughter Dipika BK of Sarkhol Khachakpur.

Two elephants coming out of Bardiya National Park had attacked them while they were staying in their house on Monday night.

Chandra died on the spot while her daughter, who sustained critical injuries in the tusker attack, breathed her last in the course of treatment at Nepalgunj Medical College.
