Valley CDOs holding joint meeting today

Likely to extend prohibitory order for a week

KATHMANDU: Preparations are underway to extend the ongoing prohibitory order for a week in the Kathmandu Valley.

Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur are holding a meeting today on the extension of the ongoing prohibitory order in the Valley.

According to Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Kali Prasad Parajuli, the meeting will extend the order for a week starting May 27.

“We are preparing to extend the prohibitory order. The joint meeting of CDOs scheduled for today will extend the order for a week in view of the rising cases of COVID-19,” said Parajuli.

The ongoing order is expiring on Wednesday midnight.

Parajuli said the prohibitory order needs to be extended to curb COVID-19 since it is still taking a toll on the human health in the country.

The joint meeting today will also make some minor changes in the modality about do’s and don’ts during the prohibitory order, said Parajuli.

The Kathmandu Valley has been under prohibitory order since April 29 due to COVID-19.
