Yaas Cyclone impact:  light rain, snowfall forecast from today



KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted rain, snowfall amidst thunderstorms in the country in the afternoon today.

The cyclone called ‘Yaas’ created in the low pressure region of the Bay of Bengal is likely to cause rains amidst thunderstorms and snowfall in various parts of the country.

The Division has said the ‘Yaas’ cyclone emerged more powerful while surging towards the north-west part of India and affecting the weather system in Nepal until Wednesday.

The weather will remain generally to fully cloudy towards the afternoon in many places of the country with chances of light snowfall and rain in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Bagmati and Pradesh 1, according to the Division.
