Lockdown violator to face 1 year jail-term or fine of Rs 500,000 from today



KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO) is set to strictly implement the COVID-19 Crisis Management Ordinance, 2078.

The DAO has said it will penalize vehicles and individuals who violate the ongoing prohibitory order pursuant to the Ordinance from today.

As per the existing provision, those who violate the order will be jailed for a year or a fine of up to Rs 500,000 or both.

Kathmandu Chief District Officer (CDO) Kali Prasad Prarajuli said a prohibitory violator will be penalized by both incarceration and the fine as stipulated in the Ordinance.
