PM Oli urges party rank and file to fan out for control of COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed all the party rank and file to fan out for the prevention and control of the coronavirus taking toll across the country.

Speaking at an emergency meeting of the general convention organizing committee held in Baluwatar today, Prime Minister Oli directed all the party leaders and cadres at all levels to play their roles to curb the pandemic.

Prime Minister Oli also urged party leaders and cadres to establish help desks in districts hit by the COVID-19.

The meeting also discussed issues including the recommendation made by the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC), according to Pradeep Gyawali, the spokesperson of the ruling CPN-UML.

Besides, the discussions ranged from taking actions against the provincial lawmakers who crossed the floor violating the party whip to the types of actions to be taken against the lawmakers who recently furnished their clarifications sought.

A meeting of the general convention organizing meeting on Friday had entrusted the newly formed SC meeting to take necessary actions against UML lawmakers close to Nepal-Khanal faction.

Gyawali further said the government is not in a mood to impose nationwide lockdown outright.
