SC scheduled to hear writ filed by Nepal-Khanal faction today

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is scheduled to hear the writ petition filed by disgruntled Nepal-Khanal faction of ruling CPN-UML on Sunday.

A single bench of Justice Prakash Kumar Dhungana will hear the writ petition.

UML senior leader Nepal had lodged a writ petition at the SC against the establishment’s decision to take action against the lawmakers close to Nepal-Khanal faction.

The disgruntled faction in the writ has argued that the action taken against them by the party chair KP Sharma Oli is against the party statute.

The Election Commission has been mentioned as the defendant saying that it did not implement the SC decision of March 6.
