Prachanda should withdraw charges and take part in elections: Pokharel

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Secretariat member and Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel has said that Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ should withdraw his charges registered against the PM and party chair KP Oli.

He added that he should be ready to take part in the coming elections so as to maintain the party unity.

Speaking at a press meet held at the party office in Dhumbarahi to share details about the February 5 mass meeting to be organized by the party in Kathmandu, he said the Election Commission decision is positive as we are in favor of party unity.

The EC decision on Sunday proves that the party has not been divided and nobody can divide it just as per their wish, he said.

The party has constituted a 1,111-member mass meeting mobilization committee led by Education and Science and Technology Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha to hold the event successfully. The mass meeting is being addressed by NCP Chair and Prime Minister Oli.

Two days before the main event, a motorcycle rally will be organized in Kathmandu with 10,000 motorcycles, said Minister Shrestha.

A separate route for participants of the rally will be ascertained beforehand so as to not trouble the general public.
