Province 2 to administer COVID-19 vaccines from Jan 27

JANAKPUR: The Province 2 government has decided to launch the administration of COVID-19 vaccines in eight districts at once from January 27.

A meeting of the Provincial Corona Crisis Management Committee that took place today under the chairpersonship of Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut decided to launch the campaign to administer the medicine to the infected people, said the CM Communications Secretariat.

CM Raut is scheduled to inaugurate the campaign at Birgunj-based Narayani Hospital, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the province Gyanendra Kumar Yadav at Provincial Hospital, Janakpurdham and Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishor Sah at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj, said Province 2 health director Bijaya Jha.

The province has received 34,000 vials of the vaccines, and they would be supplied to stores in all districts by 26 January, said Jha, adding that in the first phase, those who are working in the forefront against the infection including health workers, doctors, security personnel and sanitation workers would be administered the medicine.
