KATHMANDU: Supreme Court (SC) Justice Meera Khadka clarified that she has not corrected her date of birth.

Issuing a press release Friday, Justice Khadka claimed that her complete and true birth details are reflected in the testimonials, including educational certificates maintained at the Judiciary Council.

“There is no reason I need to correct my date of birth and I have never made that mistake. So, I would like to clarify that the publication of news harboring doubt on my varied date of birth is misleading, untruth and personal prejudice”, she noted in the press release.

She further clarified that her date of birth in all academic certificates, including School Leaving Certificate, has been 2 Jetha 2014 BS and it has remained unchanged in sheet roll form and during her civil service tenure after entering into the judicial service from the position of section officer.

She further noted that there was no reason to cast doubt on her birth date as it has been same in the Justice Council Bulletin since it was corrected by the Council on its own in 2071 BS, stated the release. “My date of birth was mistakenly inserted as 2013/10/28 BS in some publications of the Judicial Council for some years”, she clarified, adding the Council itself mended the mistake in its publications since 2071 BS to till this date.

Justice Khadka further said that it was not apt to raise question on the individual character of justice regarding minor corrections in the personal details the publications of Council. It was made public that Justice Khadka had obtained the citizenship certificate on two different dates of 18 Magh 2013 and 2 Jetha 2014 BS.
