Bureaucracy will be stronger if employees are capable: Minister Shrestha

LALITPUR: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Rajendra Prasad Shrestha underlined the need to make the public service delivery swifter.

Addressing a seminar organized at the Nepal Administrative Staff College in Lalitpur for secretaries and special class officers, Minister Shrestha asserted that bureaucracy would become stronger if the staffers were capable.

“The offices run by skilled and capable employees are transparent and if transparency is ensured, educated and skilled individuals would get to serve properly.”

Similarly, Chief Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi said that the public administration had an important role for both government and the public.

He urged the secretaries and special class officers to assume and take forward their responsibilities fully.

Staff College’s Executive Director Dr Rajan Khanal said that they were working towards making competition among the civil employees tough.

On the occasion, discussion was held on the challenges in amendment in public procurement regulation and public service delivery.
