NC’s general convention should be held in time, says leader Singh

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the party’s general convention should be held in the slated timeframe.

Talking to journalists in Janakpur airport Sunday, NC leader Singh accused the NC leadership and office-bearers of delaying to convene the party’s general convention. “It will not be good even for the party if the general convention was not convened in time,” he added.

Saying that there should be no dispute over the issue of active membership, Singh claimed that the active membership was given by breaching procedures and rules.

On the occasion, Singh said that he will contest the poll for the post of president in the NC in the upcoming general convention to be held from November 25.

Singh was of the view that he was the right candidate to shift the party’s leadership from the longtime ruling class.
