Province 1: Chief Minister Acharya taking vote of confidence today

BIRATNAGAR: Chief Minister of Province 1 Bhim Acharya is taking a vote of confidence in the state assembly today.

Speaker Pradip Kumar Bhandari said a discussion and further procedure on the motion would take place Sunday afternoon.

Acharya has been in the minority since he became the Chief Minister.

It has been speculated that he will not be able to secure a majority.

Acharya had tabled a motion for a vote of confidence in the provincial assembly meeting Friday.

The assembly meeting was adjourned immediately after CM Acharya’s motion was tabled.

Earlier, Bagmati Assembly was postponed Thursday after Chief Minister Ashta Laxmi Shakya tabled her motion of vote of confidence.
