353 killed in natural disasters in last 7 months

KATHMANDU: At least 353 people have lost their lives in disaster-related incidents in the last seven months.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 80 people are still missing.

As many as 161 people died due to landslides in the last seven months.

Likewise, 52 people have been killed by floods and 49 by lightning.

Eighteen people died due to heavy rains, 20 due to snake bites, 18 due to fires, 28 due to animal attacks, seven due to fires, hurricanes and epidemics.

A total of 1,284 people have been injured in natural disasters.
