Over six candidates in fray for NC’s Morang District President

Competition likely between Limbu and Gachchhadar

BIRATNAGAR: With the 14th General Convention of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) fast-approaching, over six contestants have been in a fray for the post of President of the NC Morang District Working Committee.

According to NC sources, District President Dig Bahadur Limbu, Gopal Raj Bhandari, Provincial Lawmaker Kedar Karki, District Secretary Nagesh Koirala, Yadu Kumar Bista, Ramesh Jung Rayamajhi and Dilip Gachchhadar are eying the coveted post.

However, the tough competition is likely between Limbu and Gachchhadar when the election will take place. Limbu is from Koirala camp while Gachchhadar is from Deuba  panel, said NC leaders.

Outgoing Secretary Modraj Ghimire has also admitted that the competition is likely between Limbu and Gachchhadar.

Limbu, who had won the elections from Deuba pane in the 13th General Convention, has become close to NC leader Shekhar Koirala as the 14th General Convention approached.
