Meets with Nepal after PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has intensified meetings to strike deal among the coalition parties on power equation in the new government.

According to sources, Prachanda has now reached Koteshwor  to meet with CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal after holding talks with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuaba at Baluwatar.

The heavyweights have discussed legal hurdles and their possible solutions while involving lawmakers of Nepal-Khanal faction in the new Council of Ministers and power-sharing among the other coalition partners.

The coalition parties agreed to expand the cabinet after Prime Minister Deuba took the vote of confidence on July 18.

The cabinet expansion has been delayed after Nepal-Khanal faction’s participation in the government has remained on hold.

There have been legal hurdles for the Nepal-Khanal faction to partake in the government.
