Long-distance vehicles come into operation from today



KATHMANDU: The long-route vehicles have come into operation frome today, making it easier for the people to travel to differnt parts of the country.

Ealier, it had beeen hard for the peole to travel from and to Kathmandu due to the lack of long-route passenger buses due to the prohibitory order imposed by the government to control the spread of COVID-19.

The Kathmandu District Administration has given permission to operate long-distance vehicles.

The administration on Friday issued a notice urging the concerned to make arrangements for the operation of long and medium-distance vehicles.

“We have received a circular from the Home Ministry stating the decision of the cabinet,” said Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli.

“In order to facilitate the movement of the examinees and the general public, the concerned are requested to make arrangements for the operation of medium and long-distance public transport in full compliance with the health standards prescribed by the Government of Nepal,” he said.
