KATHMANDU: Metropolitan Crime Division, Kathmandu has made public a 29-year-old Suresh Timalsina after arrest on the charge of murdering Santoshi Subba.

Division Chief SSP Chandra Kuber Khapung said Timalsina, who originally hails from Sindhupalchowk, Chautara Sangachowkgadhi-14, currently staying at Dhakshinkali, attempted to rape Santoshi on June 20. Timalsina killed her in cold blood after she retaliated.

An assistant driver by profession, Timalsina landed in the police net from Kathmandu-27, Kamalakshi where he was hiding after committing a crime.

The Division had arrested Timalsina within 24 hours of the incident on Wednesday. But he was made public only today since the investigation team had to collect additional evidence.

According to police, Subba and Suresh had met at Dakshinkali itself.  They had talked for around an hour over a snack at a restaurant.

Police investigation has shown that Subba retaliated when Timalsina attempted to rape her. He then strangled her to death with a shawl she was wearing.

Santoshi was staying with her foster father Dhan Bahadur Tamang at Kalopool in Kathmandu.

Santoshi had become viral on YouTube and TikTok through her skills of imitating sounds of birds.
