Former lawmaker Basnet dies from COVID-19

KATHMANDU: Former lawmaker Narendra Basnet has died from COVID-19. Basnet, 74, died at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences today morning, said the family.

Basnet won the parliamentary elections from Bhojpur constituency 1 in 2048 BS from the CPN (UML).

Having served as chairperson of Shadananda Sitaram Guthi and principal of Arun Secondary School in Bhojpur, he actively participated in social works. Basnet is survived by a wife and two sons.
