Student discharged from hostel dies on way to hospital



BUTWAL: A 10th-grader of Paramount Boarding School in Tilottama, Rupandehi has died of  ‘fever and respiratory hazards’ while being taken to hospital on Saturday.

According to sources, Pratima Sapkota, a 15-year-old student of class 10, who had been suffering from fever and respiratory problems for the past two days died after being discharged from hostel.

The school administration called the parents and handed over the child when her health condition worsened.

The girl died while being taken to the nearby Crimson Hospital, said Bhaskar Bhandari, a relative of the deceased.

The school is currently conducting examinations.

The school has sent other students who were in touch with the deceased home now.

Earlier a teaching staff of the school was found coronavirus positive, but the school, despite the notice for closure, had continued the classes.

The alumni and the relatives of the deceased student are chanting against the school for its negligence towards the student’s health.
