PM calls for alertness in wake of rise in infection

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said pointed out the need to observe caution in wake of the rise in Corona Virus infection, and thereby to stop it from spiraling.

Speaking at a programme organised by the COVID-19 crisis management centre (CCMC) today, Prime Minister Oli said there are signs that COVID-19 infection will increase again.

However, the situation at present is not alarming. Wiping out COVID-19 infection through vaccination alone is not easy, hence, necessary precaution including social distancing needs to be maintained.

Compared to other countries, the impact of COVID-19 in Nepal is less and we will not allow it to rise by adopting various measures, Oli said. For this all should follow the heath protocol issued by the Health Ministry and the CCMC.

He also claimed that the Healthy Nepal health policy adopted by the government has helped to minimize the impact of COVID-19 in the country.
