SC verdict ends constitutional crisis: SC Bar Association

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court Bar Association has said the SC verdict has ended the present constitutional crisis.

The constitutional bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday scrapped the decision of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to dissolve the House of Representatives and ordered to summon the House session within 13 days.

The press statement released by Bar Secretary Rishiram Ghimire stated on Wednesday that the SC verdict had established a fact that the judiciary was independent, able, and impartial.

Stating that the rule of law, constitutionalism and constitutional supremacy have been established by the SC verdict, Ghimire said the Bar was confident that SC would continue protecting the values relating to fundamental rights, rule of law and constitutional supremacy institutionalized in the constitution by the sovereign citizens.
