KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order against the government’s decision to install jalahari, a gold lamination at the base of the main statue of Shivlinga, in Pashupatinath Temple.

Issuing an interim order on the writ filed by Bagmati Province Lawmaker Narottam Baidya and advocate Nikita Dhungana, the SC has issued an order against the decision to fix gold jalahari there.

A single bench of Justice Purushottam Bhadari issued the order on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bench has directed the authority to hold a meeting ensuring the participation of the opponent on March 1.

Interestingly, as per the government directions, the Pashupati Area Development Fund installed gold jalahari at the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday.
