Senior Advocate Thapa says PM has no legitimacy to rule



KATHMANDU: Senior Advocate Shambhu Thapa has said that Prime Minister KP Oli does not have the legitimacy to rule the country anymore.

Thapa sought PM Oli’s resignation while speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

He claimed that PM Oli cannot impose a state of emergency as his directives have no validity at all.

“PM Oli cannot impose a state of emergency as he has no validity to rule anymore,” Thapa said, “He has lost the legitimacy to exercise the power anymore.”

He commented that all the appointments made in the constitutional bodies are revoked by the Supreme Court’s latest verdict.

Portraying PM Oli as a dictator, former President of Nepal Bar Association, Thapa said that PM Oli is an example of the fact that sometimes the dictators can rise to power through election.
