Jajarkot village provides financial assistances to new mothers



JAJARKOT: Chunichande Rural Municipality has provided financial assistance to over 588 new mothers in the rural municipality.

As part of the ‘vice-chair with new mothers’, each new mother has received a total of Rs 2,500 in financial assistance to purchase chicken meat, mustard oil, and clothes for the new baby, said officiating chair of the rural municipality Shiva Acharya.

For the program, the rural municipality set aside Rs 1.4 million in the fiscal year, 2019/20.

The program aims to keep maintain the good health of the new mother and baby, said Acharya, adding that the program continues the current fiscal year, 2020/21. The rural municipality has launched various programs targeting the health and nutrition of women and children.
