Oli faction summons Standing Committee meeting

KATHMANDU: The KP Oli faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has convened a meeting of the Standing Committee to discuss a way forward after the Supreme Court reinstated the House of Representatives.

The meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar at 11 am.

According to the leaders, no information has been given about the agenda as it is an emergency meeting.

A five-member Constitutional Bench led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana on Tuesday had annulled the government’s decision to dissolve the HoR.

Likewise, the SC had also ordered the government to summon the House session within the next 13 days.

A total of 13 writ petitions were registered at the SC seeking the reinstatement of the HoR.

The five-strong Constitutional Bench led by Chief Justice Rana had ordered the reinstatement of the HoR after two months of the hearing.
