SC’s Constitutional Bench to resume hearing on HoR dissolution today



KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court (SC) will resume hearing on writs filed against the dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR) on Sunday.

The Bench comprising Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana, Justices Bishwombhar Prasad Shrestha, Anil Kumar Sinha, Sapana Pradhan Malla, and Tej Bahadur KC will continue hearing arguments from lawyers representing plaintiffs.

A total of 10 lawyers had taken part in a hearing on behalf of writ petitioners on Friday, the largest number of lawyers advocating in a single day.

According to the apex court, ten advocates including Narahari Acharya, Kopil Prasad Adhikari, Janak Singh Saud, Sulochana Dhital, Salikram Sapkota, Sailendra Dahal, Raju Prasad Chapagain, Umesh Prasad Sah, Guna Raj Ghimire, and Tara Prasad Timilsina took part in the hearing on behalf of the writ petitioners on Friday.

Around 300 advocates have filed their names for advocacy for or against the writ petitions related to the dissolution of HoR.
